YASAM SASMAZERS Holzskulpturen sind lebensgroße, realitätsnahe Abbilder von Kindern: ein geistesabwesender Junge mit einem Vogel, ein trotzig-herausfordernd grinsendes Mädchen mit einem Lolli, ein in Gedanken versunkenes Mädchen vor dem riesigen Schatten eines Wolfes. Vertraute Gesten und Szenen aus der Kinder- und Märchenwelt – doch fehlt Sasmazer’s Figuren das Kindliche und Reine, sie scheinen sich vielmehr zwischen Traum und Albtraum zu bewegen. Verschlossen in ihrer eigenen Welt, haben sie noch kein selbstreflexives Bewusstsein für Gut und Böse. Sasmazer thematisiert diesen „dunklen Aspekt“ des Unbewussten: Ihre Kinder sind keine „kleinen Engel“, sie sind unsicher und misstrauisch und ebenso wie in jedem Menschen schlummert auch in ihnen ein gewisses aggressives Potential.
